Roller Skaters United is a non-profit on a mission to develop accessible and quality roller skating spaces and programming to empower our community to strengthen their mental and physical health.

Accessibility

We believe skate spaces should be free (or affordable) just like public basketball courts, tennis courts, and skateboard parks are.

Inclusivity

We believe in creating spaces where roller skaters of all races, ages, genders, sexual orientations, socioeconomic backgrounds and skill levels are welcome. Celebrating what makes our community special; our unique backgrounds, perspectives, and styles of skate dance.

Safety

Creating spaces where roller skaters feel safe is a priority. Due to lack of public skate spaces, many roller skaters utilize public facilities not made for them. These include: basketball courts, tennis courts, community colleges, and parking lots. Threats of the police being called for using these spaces is a regular occurrence, but they don’t have to be!

Quality

Despite popularity, plastic floors seen at pop-ups, are not properly equipped to handle the athleticism of intermediate to advanced roller skaters. Semi-polished concrete, or wood floors, are best when it comes to the quality and safety of roller skating surfaces.
